dc.description.abstract | This paper analyzes the effect of land reform policy on child nutrition outcomes in Zimbabwe, and estimates whether the effect differs based on gender of household head. Using nationally representative Rural Livelihoods Assessment Survey data collected in 2017, the study employs an endogenous switching regression model to control for selection bias and endogeneity. The results show that benefitting from land reform increases the likelihood of both stunting and wasting in children. From a gender perspective, the paper provides evidence that benefitting from land reform significantly reduces the likelihood of child stunting in female-headed households. The study recommends that land reform policies should enhance access to land for women as a strategy for reducing child malnutrition. | |
